HOW TO CALL THE POLICE

IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, CALL
911

When you call the police department, you must give the operator your name, address, and telephone number.

Police officers are important people in our lives.  They help take care of people, their property and their community.

Police officers help people who are lost or in trouble.  They also stop people from breaking the law.

Police officers have many different kinds of jobs.  Some direct traffic; others work in schools talking to children. Many officers work in the police station answering telephones, filing and using computers.

When you see police officers, look at the badges they carry.  Those badges mean that they will protect you and me.  They worked very hard to get that badge and they will try their best to take care of everyone in the community!
