DCJP DEFY Youth Participate in Safe Evening of Fun

Brothers Against Guns hosted a “Stop The Violence” Skating Party at Northland Roller Rink on Wednesday, December 19, 2007.  The mission of Brothers Against Guns is to improve the lives of youth and young adults in our communities, by providing them with Educational, Motivational and Mentoring workshops that will allow them to become productive citizens and empower them with the ability to build a better life for themselves.

The purpose of the party was to educate the youth about gun violence and the effects of it, as well as, how to use conflict resolution instead of guns and gang violence, in a fun learning environment. 2007 DEFY Camp graduates attended the party, along with DCJP staff, and several parent chaperones.

The highlight of the the skating party was local entertainment artists, give-a-ways, and a host of youth-empowerment presentations.
